When Facebook started rolling out some of the changes that we saw last week, several of us really didn’t care for what we saw much-less how it would work. I was totally annoyed at yet more changes. I’m not in the mood for more changes. Well that was until I did some homework and found out what the new and improved Facebook will be once they are finished. Look above to see what I am talking about. I can now admit that I was hasty and didn’t get the whole story before I jumped on the negative side of the fence. No more. I am truly looking forward to the changes.
Facebook is in the process of taking social networking to levels we could have never imagined. There are 3 main areas that will be included in this update.
1) Facebook Timeline – This will allow you to chronicle your entire life if you like.
2) Apps – You’ll be amazed at the capabilities and how you will be using apps on Facebook!
3) OpenGraph – Allows for the ability for some social networking software to interact across different platforms. This allows different websites and applications to share information about a user, their interests and even their friendship network.
For the first time in a very long time, we will be experiencing social networking as if we just found out that candy tastes good. It’s new! It’s HIGHLY innovative! It is going to be WILDLY fun to use. If you’d like to see some in depth information about it and how it will work you can watch this video (over an hour long) but well worth it if you can at least listen while you do something else. The first portion is a Zuckerberg spoof. Once you see how the finished product will look, you will be more excited than ever for this roll out to happen. If you watch this video, you’ll see how the NEW Facebook Timeline, Apps & OpenGraph will all work in unison to give you a social experience you never imagined or if you did, will satisfy your desires.

We all know that privacy on Facebook can be an issue – at least for those of us who don’t like to expose every factor of our private lives. It is my hope that by bringing you this information, you will go IMMEDIATELY to the settings on your account for privacy and spend some time making sure you have everything locked down tightly before the new roll out hits. If you want to remove your phone number, just use 000-000-0000 and it will work.
Take the time to tidy up your account and get rid of anything you don’t want on your main Timeline. All of your pictures will show up in your Timeline and as people scroll, they can see all of them. I will be visiting my privacy settings daily to make sure nothing changes and all is the way I want it.
